Tires Nokia or VITOUR

Nokia Tires

Do your self a favor and buy a good set of studded snow tires, like Nokian Hakkapellitta’s for this drive. They’ll definitely save you some misery, and help keep you safe

Pros: help keep you safe
Cons: save you some misery

I use OPD on my Bolt EUV 2023 and it works wonderfully so far. We've had tons of snow and all sorts of crappy road conditions lately in Southern Quebec (I live in the country, not the city), so I have a pretty good sampling. Reminds me when I had a manual transmission.

Pros: works wonderfully

I’m in Alberta, Canada, where the attitude towards snow ploughing is “We do it, if we get around to it— could be sometime next week”. The Model 3 RWD is substantially better on ice than my old ICE vehicle, especially with studded Nokian winter tires on it.

Pros: better on ice

VITOUR Tires

I came across the Vitour Galaxy R1s — they’re V-rated, which is cool, but I’m not sure if they’re DOT approved. From what I can tell, they’re made by a South African brand (possibly China-owned) and seem to be geared toward drift/race use.

Just wondering if anyone’s actually run these? How’s the grip and overall quality? I’m aiming for a tire that can handle daily driving and still be fun in the corners without dropping $500+ on Avons CR6ZZ

Pros: V-rated tire
Cons: DOT approval uncertain

Just found out my tires will not pass PA inspection due to chunking and cracking. I only had these tires for 3 years/10k miles.

Cons: chunking and cracking
Mileage: 16093 km
