Tires NITTO or Maxxis

NITTO Tires

I really enjoyed the Nitto NT555’s this time around and my only complaint was road noise. Performance was great otherwise.

Pros: great performance
Cons: road noise

NITTO Tires

I went with the Nitto Motivo 365\u2019s, partially because they look cool and partially because of the 3pms rating as i often face snow in the winter. Unfortunately, they have tanked my fuel economy a decent bit as they do weigh more and have a higher rolling resistance, but it has also gotten cold which also decreases my mpg so right now i\u2019m averaging around 28 where as before i was around 32, but in the summer I have seen long trips average around 38.

Pros: cool look, 3pms rating
Cons: tanked fuel economy
Vehicle: Chevrolet
Mileage: 50000 km

NITTO Tires

I just put Nitto Motivo 365’s on 25’ TS yesterday. They are an ultra-high performance all-weather tire engineered for performance in dry, wet, and snow conditions. It provides all-season's usual dry and wet performance, enhanced with 3PMS-rated snow traction for true all-weather confidence.

Pros: performance in all conditions

Maxxis Tires

The 3CT (MaxxTerra?) is a much more suitable rear tyre compound and it's already on the softer side, I can't imagine ever running a Maxxgrip rear tyre outside of pro racing as it's slow rolling and wears out incredibly fast.

Pros: suitable rear tyre compound
Cons: slow rolling, wears fast

NITTO Tires

I recently put HPAS 205/50/15 Nitto Neo Gen on my NB since i’m on a budget. So far they’ve been much better than expected. They grip significantly noticeably more than what the previous owner had (ironman tires.) they grip to the point i struggle to throw the rear out without kicking it. Last tires I could cut the wheels and just hit it and the rear would slip out but with these even flicking it doesn’t want to break out. They’ve been performing great in corners as well, I’ve been able to take some 10-20mph faster without worry.

Pros: much better than expected
Vehicle: Mazda

Maxxis Tires

I run 29x2.4 Ikon/Aspen on hardpack and it serves me well. The Aspen at first was more nervous over roots but I think I was running too high a pressure and it’s much better. The Ikon is just my jack of all trades XC tire; not good or bad at anything.

Pros: jack of all trades
Cons: nervous over roots

NITTO Tires

Just bought my 1500 a few months ago and it has ridge grapplers on it. I noticed during the test drive that the wet traction was not great, and have confirmed since. Wet traction on take offs, or even hard acceleration while trying to pass or something on the highway can be problematic.

Pros: look great, add height
Cons: wet traction not great
