I have a set of Quatrac Pros on my Audi. I like them. TireRack reviews of them are great. And the sidewall is cool.
A friend uses a set for snow tires on his Lexus LS. He had Blizzaks prior. His only complaint is that they are getting pretty noisy as they wear down. Otherwise he likes them.
I've enjoyed them on my RS3 last winter. Much better than ice & snow Blizzaks, but this is my first experience with a performance winter tire.
I bought a set of these for the wifes EOS maybe 2 years ago from tirerack and they made a huge improvement compared to what she had, i think kumho's. Less road noise, more grip all around.
I put a set of Vredestein Quatracs on my wife's MB E350 4matic. They absolutely transformed the car for the better. I'd like to find some for my GTI. I highly recommend them.
I bought these tires based on Tire Rack's review and it is spot on. The one word in the review that stuck with me and I'd have to agree with is luxurious. They feel that way. They are clear to me the best tires I've ever owned. And, I have been driving for more than 45 years. They are quiet, handle really well in both dry and wet.
I have Nankang NS-25s on mine. Less than $100 each, and even with a Malone Stage 2 setup, it only spins the tires a little bit. Dry handling is surprisingly good as well. They put up with northern Illinois winters well enough, and are just fine in the rain. Not too much road noise either.
Go with the Vredestein; significantly underappreciated tires and an incredible value
I had both ns2 and 512 on my 17x9 both were 205/45. The nankangs were decent but didn't give me the stretch I wanted like the falkens
I had General's in that size on my old GTI. Awesome tires, but they've gone way up in price since then. After that, I had a set of the Nankangs. Crap tires and the road noise drove me insane. Would not recommend.
