Tires NANKANG or Maxxis

Maxxis Tires

My bike came with 27.5 **Ardent Race** tires and they are super fast and plenty grippy for most days. The side lugs grab corners really nicely. I have some 60tpi Ardents around and they are heavier and slower feeling.

Pros: super fast, plenty grippy
Cons: heavier and slower feeling

ive been running the MT-772's for about 5k miles now and they are quite impressive. I have had BFG's and Nitto Grapplers in the past and these are just as good, possibly better (and cheaper). Quite impressive on the rocks and in the mountains as they air down quite nicely and super grippy. Throw in the fact that they're not really loud on the freeway and you pretty much have all you can ask for in a mud-terrain.

Pros: super grippy, not really loud
Mileage: 8046 km

I rock the maxis ardent race on my rear wheel of my 29er. Great combo but Ive been ripping the hardtail on techical single track so maybe not the best for your application.

Pros: great combo
Cons: maybe not the best

Maxxis or Michelin Wild Enduros. I use 2.4 Enduros coming from 2.3 high rollers. The Enduros just stick man, sideways.

Pros: just stick sideways

I have Nankang NS-25s on mine. Less than $100 each, and even with a Malone Stage 2 setup, it only spins the tires a little bit. Dry handling is surprisingly good as well. They put up with northern Illinois winters well enough, and are just fine in the rain. Not too much road noise either.

Pros: good dry handling, low noise

I'm also currently running a MAXXIS Desert IT front tire on my KTM 1090 tubeless wheel without issue. Its a hard compound tire that is designed for the tough stuff, and I also recommend it.

Pros: designed for tough stuff

NANKANG Tires

When I had BBS RCs I switched from 225/40/18 General Exclaim UHPs to 215/40/18 Nankang NS-II. Not the best tire (by a long shot), on the low end of decent I'd say, but they were cheap and available in the size I was looking for.

Pros: cheap and available
Cons: not the best tire

NANKANG Tires

I had General's in that size on my old GTI. Awesome tires, but they've gone way up in price since then. After that, I had a set of the Nankangs. Crap tires and the road noise drove me insane. Would not recommend.

Pros: awesome tires (General)
Cons: crap tires (Nankang), insane road noise
Vehicle: Volkswagen
