ive ONLY been using nankang since i started operating VWs since 2003. +taken up to 120mph multiple times no problem +they stretch good; i used them on 9.5\" +at around $55/tire you cant go wrong for daily use
I bought these a while ago basically to store my B5 on; they have seen the road for about 200kms back and forth to the paint shop. No scratches, bends, rash, nothing. The tires are Nankang 215/35s and have some camber wear but could easily be used for the remainder of this season and next season.
Little bit too late, but i ma using the same tyre now. First impressions are really good, its quiet and comfort, acting well also. For that price i think you cant beat them with anything.
I had NS-2's and loved them.
So far so good. I've put close to 500 miles on them they seem to be really quiet, and handle well in the rain. They stretch well, ride quietly, and they are cheap so I have no complaints.
Get Ns1's. Handle heavy load, stretch well, and respond well to over inflation.
I've run both tires on 18x8.5. The falken 215/40's were smaller than the 205/40 AS-1's..I rubbed hard with the As-1's The AS-1's are a pretty true to size. I know what you are trying to do, and the AS-1's won't help. Edit: this is the best picture I have to show how true the tires are..as you can see it's not a great looking tire for the size.
I had some back in like 2002 or so, not bad, not great but definately not a high quality tire.. does the job if you just need something for basic use
I had Nankangs once. The only negative reviews I read just pointed out the excessive road noise. They drove me absolutely ****ing insane the entire time I had them on my car.
My nankangs stretched pretty well. However, They suck in the rain. Like, scary bad. But you can do crazy burn-outs, because they don't grip for sh!t. You get what you pay for, in this case unfortunately.
