Tires NANKANG or Achilles

I was not able to find falkens for the size I was looking so switched from Yoko a052 to Nankangs… very happy so far … was able to close the gap in my group by 3 seconds …

I've run both. Both are good. I prefer the Falken overall due to the directness of the steering feel and how well I can place the car. Nankangs very easy to drive.

They don’t seem to have got a mention yet, but the generally accepted ‘best track tyre for lowest price’ is the Nankang NS-2R. Right at the bottom of the price range for semi-slicks so obviously it’s performance isn’t at the same level as bigger brands semi-slicks, or eve Nankang’s own AR-1s (which most agree is a genuinely good semi-slick), but performs better on track than more expensive road/summer tyres in the dry.

I’ll probably end up with another set of Nankang AR-1s next.

Nankang NS-2R for track on Teamdynamics

I put about 10 laps on a set of Achilles all seasons on stock power at my last drift event and the tires still look new. I had heard bad things about Achilles but so far so good for me.

NS2 review: I've never been able to get them balanced properly and they're loud. Even forced balanced on brand new wheels, I got highway vibrations. That said, they're inexpensive, last decently long for the price, handle water extremely well and they stretch nicely. They handle water better than falken 512's, 452's and hankook v12 evo's. I've had 4 sets and I've never had a bubble or other failure.

a bit noisy when worn but they stretch well and last plenty long. I usually buy them when going for new tires. NS-II

I had nankang before. Stupid loud and didn't last long at all.

Expect lots of ***-***-*** noise as they wear. The NS2 on one of my previous cars got so loud that it became unbearable.
