I think such soft compound can go over the recommended 5-6 year. I have run similar tires (Michelin PSS) tires for 10 years without trouble.
Michelin Defender LTX get a big vote from me if the vehicle is a pavement pounder. They're fantastic in the rain and snow, and wear great, too.
I ran the Michelin Defender LTX on our 2017 Explorer and they were great, long wearing, good in the rain and quiet. Not a sporty tire at all though.
I put Michelin PS4s on mine and never looked back.
Run any tires that aren't the ones that came on the car. The OEM Dunlops that came on the 2016 GT were terrible. I thought that when I'd change to the Michelin PS3 As, I might notice a bit of a change, but they completely changed how the car drove in every situation. I immediately noticed how nimble, yet planted the car felt after the change.
Quiet E rated for heavy Toyota truck Quality Warranty Does great in snow Quiet Smooth ride
I switched to Michelin Defender T&H. I don't drive aggressively so these tires are perfect for me.
I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus tires and found them to be far better than the tires that came from the factory.
replaced factory garbage with Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ at 20k miles, drives much better on them.
I've used those Michelin since last winter. The road noise is improved, but not significant.
