Put cross climates on the Impreza. Drives like a different, better handling car.
Discount Tires, Michelin Defender 2 - this is the way.
Paid about $1000 at Costco for Michelin CrossClimate 2 in 2023.
I have a bit of a sportier car so I primarily run more high-performance tires, currently running some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S4's, and in the rain they are really good. Also not horrendous in light snow but I wouldn't go out in a blizzard with them.
I just got a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta and they are the single best tires I've ever had. They are biased towards water. I've been going through all of the heavy rain puddles thinking I would hydroplane and just nothing happens. I cruise through like I have suction cups as tires.
Ok, I’m moving from Atlanta to Western NY. I have never driven in real snow before. I bought these 2 weeks ago in preparation for my trip. I drove from Atlanta to Cincinnati, then Cincinnati to Olean. I-86 was insanely nasty. These cross climate 2’s got me here with no issues at all.
I just purchased them 2 weeks ago. I live in South Dakota. They are absolutely worth every penny. They are superior to the original factory tires. I've never had so much traction in the slush and snow before.
Just had them put on my Camry I live in upper Midwest. My mechanic recommended them. They are worth so glade I bought them. In 1 week of driving I am not spinning my tires or sliding like I use to.
They have great traction in the rain and snow. On the other hand they’re fairly loud, compared to most other all weather tires you’ll likely see up to a 5%-10% drop in fuel economy(traction comes with a cost), and ride quality and handling are mediocre at best. Whether the great traction is worth it is your decision.
Hate those michelin x-ice tires. Just drive on your summer tires they will not be any different.
