MICHELIN Tires

Buy the cleanest one with the least deferred maintenance, oh and Michelins, you can't go wrong buying a car with Michelins on it.

Pros: can't go wrong

I drove pretty regularly all winter. It was getting to the point that the stock summer Bridgestones were getting scary in the cold and wet with very little grip. So, in that respect it was a huge improvement in cold weather handling. If we're comparing ideal condition, yeah the winters do not perform nearly as well. The turn in isn't quite as sharp and responsive, there's less steering feedback, and the limits of grip were lower, which was especially noticeable under hard braking. Still, this car is intended to be my primary form of transportation and I didn't want to stop driving it just because it was cold or raining. So, while it was a bit of a handling detriment compared to ideal conditions, it still had plenty of grip for the street and still put a smile on my face every time I got behind the wheel.

Pros: improved cold weather grip
Cons: less sharp turn-in, lower grip limits

I am on my second set of Michelin Energy summer tires from Costco - they are H-rated 175/65-15s made in Germany and meant for the base Mini. They have the BMW star on the sidewall.

Pros: made in Germany

So unfortunately my Macan needed new tires...Excellent service, not a single scratch or mark on the wheels, perfectly balanced, on time and as promised, bill had all information including warranty, even to what spec they torqued the wheels bolts, yes, to Porsche specification which is 110 ftlb, tire pressure sport on. I was also very impressed about the friendliness of the staff, they all were knowledgeable, no pressure. Needless to say I may try them again going forward.

Pros: excellent service, perfectly balanced
Vehicle: Porsche

I drive my RWD performance summer tires in sub freezing temps when it’s dry out, WITH caution. It will be like using hard plastic tires. No sudden shift in weight please!

Pros: drove in sub freezing temps
Cons: like hard plastic tires
Vehicle: BMW Z4
