Buy Michlin. Best money per mile. I ALWAYS get 90k+
I have Michelin PS A/S 4 on my STI and they are the best tires I've ever had. Wet traction and hydroplaning resistance was also much improved.
Michelin Primacy! Just changed my set from yokohama and the difference is evident.
Been using Michelin cross climate 2s for 3 winters. Been satisfied with the performance. previously used to do the all season and switch to dedicated winters which were nokian winters.
Maintenance on the car is minimal. Yes tires and brakes will go, but just put money away for those things. I changed from the OEM wheels and tires to 18s and now get 30k miles on Michelin PS4s.
I've never had a set of tires ever make it to their lesser 50-65k warranty mileage, until michelins, which have lasted longer than their 80k warranty for me, both defenders on compact car and ltx on 1/2 ton truck, and both were smoother and quieter.
New Michelin ps4s on my rsx type-s. World of difference over the crap it had on.
Went from 28lb OEM wheels --> 18lb aftermarket and OEM Goodyear Eagles to Michelin Pilot Sports, it's a night & day difference.
I used them through last winter, which had some extremely icy periods. I had one sketchy incident, where I hit a patch of ice going about 5 mph and just could not stop, but I don’t think Blizzaks would have saved me there considering how slow I was already going. Other than that, they performed fine for me.
I replaced them 2 years ago with a set of Michelin Primacy Tour A/S. I’ve been pretty unhappy with the Michelins from the time I got them…I think the Yokohamas rode better and were quieter
