Tires MICHELIN or Kumho

Kumho Tires

Made in South Korea, and original equipment on Hyundai's and Kia's. I have been using them for years, excellent choice.

Pros: excellent choice, long-term use

MICHELIN Tires

Michelin Cross Climate 2 on my 09 Impreza sedan. Road noise is better than the winters I had, but I’ve heard they’re kinda noisy to some people. Wet and dry performance, especially in the hotter months is significantly better than my winter tires, and I feel much more connected to the road. Spirited drives on twisty backroads feel much better. In snow storms, starting/stopping feels amazing, like the snow isn’t even there, and I’ve never had an issue pulling through 5+ inches of snow. Making light and smooth turns has also been very good. However, I find it much easier to break traction compared to my previous winter tires if you’re being reckless, and it's harder to regain. Aggressive 90-degree downhill turns can make the back end step out. There's also a reported 1-3 mpg hit. Despite this, I would most likely buy them again.

Pros: better road noise, excellent wet/dry grip, amazing snow performance, connected feel
Cons: can be noisy, easier to break traction, mpg hit

Rating 4.5

Michelin cross climate 2’s on my 2016 Impreza sport hatch 5mt. I’ve had them for about a year and a half in central PA and they’ve treated me very well. They’re awesome in snow and the tread life has been good so far. They’re a little more noisy on the highway, but I definitely feel more comfortable driving the car in bad weather over my Jeep, unless the snow fall is over like 8 inches. Michelin cross climate 2 gets my vote!

Pros: awesome in snow, good tread life, comfortable in bad weather
Cons: a little noisy on highway

MICHELIN Tires

Michelin Cross Climate 2. I don't feel the need to run dedicated snowies but the CC2s have been fantastic.

Pros: fantastic performance, no need for snow tires

MICHELIN Tires

Cup2 is a garbage tire that is basically great for 2-3 sessions and then turns into a pumpkin for the remainder of its tread life.

Pros: great for few sessions
Cons: turns into a pumpkin
