I was very happy with my switch down to 20 in wheels and Michelin Defenders. Slightly cheaper tires, more sidewall with better ride quality. Minimal impact range versus the 21" wheels and tires with aero covers.

Pros: cheaper tires, more sidewall, better ride quality, minimal range impact

Hi. I'm a tire nerd. I ran all-weather tires on my cars for years and would still be doing it except now I have space to store winters. Nokian and Toyo make amazing all-weather tires that don't have a ton of compromise in winter or summer. Just keep in mind that tread depth has a decent impact on snow so if they're at 3/32 depth in the summer you won't notice but 3/32 in the winter you will. They wear faster than modern touring tires. I'm on track to get 80,000km from my Michelin AS4 but only got 55,000km from my Nokian WRG4s.

Pros: amazing all-weather tires
Cons: wear faster than touring
Mileage: 80000 km

MICHELIN Tires

I went with the Crossclimate 3 Sport myself, and very happy so far. Haven\u2019t seen proper snow yet, but then we very rarely do where I live in Germany. Great in cold and wet conditions, and WAY better than a true winter tire when conditions are more favorable.

Pros: Great in cold, wet

Can't say enough good things about the CC2s. I do a lot of highway driving and they are rock solid in both cold and snowy weather.

Pros: rock solid in cold, good in snow

Get michelin CC2. Excellent snow performance but you can also keep them on year around and expect 60k moles out of them.

Pros: excellent snow performance
Mileage: 96560 km

I have around 20,000km (12,000mi) on my Kumho tires 2024 hybrid 20"), they are around 60% life, but I never go down to the wear bars. So call them half gone. I'll expect to get about 26,000ish miles.

I tow semi frequently but am otherwise easy on my tires - no hard launches, no high speed hard cornering. Rotate them about every 10,000km as it works out to swap my winter wheels on.

Pros: expected good lifespan
Cons: observed wear rate
Mileage: 20000 km

Kumho Tires

Burned through the edges of my front tires to the chords from the abuse and a steep learning curve with understeer. Since the AWD system is sensitive, I had to replace all four tires, not just the front two.

Cons: burned edges, short lifespan, sensitive to AWD
