Tires MICHELIN or FEDERAL

MICHELIN Tires

Same for tires. Michelins are the premium tires to buy. Bfgoodrich is great not as good but made by Michelin. Uniroyal (which makes tiger paws that some people loathe) is a cheap tire made by Michelin.

Pros: premium tires, good quality
Cons: cheap tires, some loathe

I have a set of Federal 595RS-Pro's on my ATS-V. I have not had them on their long but I have been able to do one autocross on them and it improved my performance significantly. Also, I can confirm that they are not noisy on the road.

Pros: improved performance, not noisy
Cons: longevity unknown

I took advantage of the 4th of July sales and ditched the stock Pirellis for Michelin Sport 4S because I’m going for a road trip along Big Sur and through the Redwoods (Hated the Pirellis).

Pros: better road trip experience
Cons: hated the Pirellis

I have a focus St with Michelin pilot super sports. While the compound sucks when it hits freezing temps, I've had no issues getting around, unless it's super icy.

Pros: no issues getting around
Cons: compound sucks when freezing
Vehicle: Ford Focus

On the two Hondas I leased, all I did other than oil changes was switch out the tires on my Accord coupe V6/6-speed after one got punctured. I wanted to do it anyway; the stock tires sucked, and the one thing the car did great was accelerate, so I put a set of Michelin Super Sports on it. It stopped acting like I was waterboarding it with high-RPM shifts into 2nd after that.

Pros: improved acceleration, better handling

I’ve been running Federals lately - RS-RR’s and RS-Pros - and both have been fantastic. Excellent grip, long wearing and cheap. Only gripe is the noise which is atrocious.

Pros: excellent grip, long wearing
Cons: atrocious noise

MICHELIN Tires

Just had a set of 225/40R18 Pilot Sport 4s tires mounted on my summer wheels -- saved $150. Great service at my local Tire Center. Guys were nice and knew their stuff. They also used a $16,000 Coats APX90E tire changer, which was a nice bonus and didn't leave a scratch anywhere.

Pros: great service, no scratches
Vehicle: Porsche

I've had Evo595 and they aren't that good. I ordered their RS-R and were sent RS-RR instead due to being sold out. These are so much better (quite loud if that's fine) have been on daily for 11k miles now with tread at okay level.

Pros: much better
Cons: quite loud
Mileage: 11000 km
