MICHELIN Tires

I just got the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ for my P3D 20" wheels from Costco for just over $1000 installed, I'm sure the 18"s are less. I spent last holiday weekend driving in snow in the Sierras (norcal). The tires were great on the surfaces and snow conditions encountered.

Pros: great on snow

I got the CrossClimate+ installed last week. Minimal experience with snow and ice so far but substantially better than the stock tires. Mine seem a little louder than the OEM set but I wouldn't call them loud.

Pros: better than stock tires
Cons: little louder

MICHELIN Tires

I switched to CrossClimate+ after my oem MXM4s went bald at 20k. So far they have been equally efficient as my first set of tires, though I think they may be *slightly* louder.

Pros: equally efficient
Cons: slightly louder
Mileage: 20000 km

Falken Tires

1st thing I did when I got my Alltrack was drive to discount tire and trade my Falkens for some Conti PURECONTACT LS. Got $50 per tire on trade. OEM tires always seem to be cheap versions of their namesake that wear our early etc. Swap em now or before next winter.

Pros: Got $50 per tire
Cons: wear our early
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Falken Tires

My setup is 19" DPE's with 8.5" wide front wheels on 225/35/19 Nitto 555 extreme tires which have good grip from what I've seen so far and a 10" wide rear wheels on 245/35/19 Falcon 452's... The Nitto's are more expensive but I've been told they wear down slower and have better grip than the Falcon's...

FALKEN ZIEX ZE-512, I had these on 18" wheels and they were a hard tire, lots of road noise and didn't provide a lot of grip. I didn't buy them again nor would I suggest them to someone. They were fine, but I am sure there are better tires out there. I went with FEDERAL SS-595 which were cheaper, quieter and grip way better in the dry. look at www.onlinetires.com

Pros: cheaper, quieter, better dry grip (Federal)
Cons: hard tire, lots of road noise, low grip (Falken)
