Mine are quiet (but then, im comparing to a corolla on 19's...)
I eventually chose Turanza EV tires, which cost $1433 installed at Discount Tires in Portland, OR.
The Turanzas did not get off to a good start with me because they were inefficient: I was getting about 310 Wh/m. I called D Tires to discuss them and their sales guy said to drive them for 1k miles to break them in and then re-consider whether I was happy with my purchase.
I followed this advice which turned out to be good advice. At 1K miles, the Wh/m has dropped to about 280 Wh/M. The noise level from the tires has all but disappeared. These guys are quiet. The quality of the ride is just what I like: firm but not harsh.
I recently got the Defender LTX MS2 and was deciding between the Toyo AT3 and the Defenders. Since I drive 99% on highways, with an annual off-road camping trip and a few winter snow trips, I’m thrilled with my choice! The tires are very quiet and well-cushioned. The tread seems aggressive enough for my needs.
Michelin Primacy are good road going tyre imo, reputable brand, high quality and has lasted many many 1000s of miles.
I just installed Michelin pilot sport AS on my 11 328 and they are well worth the cost.
Absolutely. You don’t always need the best of the best for the type of tire you want (Michelin PS4 for example) but you absolutely want a good brand.
The CC2s are also awesome on wet/slush as the open v sipes resist hydro planing. Hit standing water with the BS Weather Peak, you better have a firm grip on the steering wheel. Michelin CC2S you hear the splash, but barely feel it in the steering wheel.
Michelin pilot sport SUV — changed the driving experience, really like em
Careful with Michelin model numbers as they are confusing and people often buy ones they didnt intend
The pilot sports are terrible. I burned through my set in 11000 miles.
