Tires MICHELIN or Achilles

MICHELIN Tires

Selling the SS was a god send for this. It ate a set of PS4S's every 3 months. 16 tires went to it every year, then the Lotus took a set, so before the E38, that was 20 tires a year.

Pros: long lasting
Vehicle: Chevrolet SS

+1 for Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Had the Cup 2’s on my PP2 (305 front and rear), they lasted 7,500 miles, lots of grip but no grip when cold or damp. Switched to PS4’s currently with 21,000 miles, and probably another ~10,000 left in them. Much better all weather performance, and they had ~90% of the grip of the Cup 2’s. Also added benefit of a slightly softer ride due to a softer sidewall.

Pros: better all weather performance, softer ride
Cons: less grip than Cup 2
Mileage: 21000 km

Have an SL5 and upgraded to Zipp 303 firecrest just because it was such a good deal, $1,400 delivered. I went with Michelin Power Road and very happy

Pros: very happy with Michelin

If you don’t do a lot of spirited driving the Michelin Cross Climate 2 have served me and I live in NJ. They are quiet and track really nice. Plus the 60,000 mile warranty is a plus. They come in both H & V ratings. I run them on my 2009 2 Door Rabbit S.

Pros: quiet, track really nice, good warranty
Vehicle: Volkswagen

MICHELIN Tires

After the first commute in the rain with the factory all seasons, I purchased a set of Michelin PSAS4. These have done remarkably well here in North Texas. I can highly recommend them. Recently I had my first “panic” stop and they were great. The only thing I won’t take them on is ice (which we get here) but a set of studded tires are a bit overkill here, and probably not legal, so I didn’t drive on the ice.

Pros: remarkably well, great panic stop, highly recommend
Cons: not for ice
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I have these on my jacked up G37 hatchback, and they're not all that quiet and have progressively gotten louder with time. They do seem to be wearing well though, which is a surprise for a Michelin.

Pros: wearing well
Cons: not that quiet, louder with time
Vehicle: Infiniti
Mileage: 10000 km

MICHELIN Tires

Dude. Ran the michellins, ran the Kumhos and twice have run Dunlop SP5000s .. run the dunlops. They're sub $100/tire, grip much better than the kumhos both wet and dry, take longer to wear and are just all around a better tire. Far better than the michellins, for a fraction of the price.

Pros: better grip, longer wear
Cons: worse than Dunlops
