Tires Maxxis or GENERAL TIRE

I run exo+ with no issues.

I run exo casing minions. No complaints.

General is good. I have Evertrek GTs on my car, they seem to be a pretty good tire.

Check out Generals Altimax line of tires, I have them on my shitbox beater and they’ve been serving me well for 20,000 miles

I only put Generals on my Jetta and BMW. LOVE THE G-Max for price and handling.

I have the older version RT43's in my Lexus ES300 - they run really well but I will probably replace them in the next 2 years

Ridden both for XC racing and I have come to prefer the specialized tires over maxxis. I personally like to run ground control T5 upfront with fast track t5 in the rear as my base for my local trails and most race courses ( mid Atlantic area US) . If the course is hard pack and not super technical I’ll run fast track upfront with fast track or renegade in the rear. My I also found to get I got pinch flats more often on maxxis or side wall cuts through rock gardens. This is completely a personal preference but I’ve also felt more in control of the bike with specialized tires I mentioned

I have also ridden both. Like pretty much everyone else here said, it’s a matter of personal preference. I had a lot of problems with the 120 TPI Maxxis XC tires where I live because we have a lot of sharp rocks. I have been using the 60 TPI rekon race tires for the last couple of months and they have been great.

DHRs are grippy as hell but are not fast rolling. I swapped out for DHF and DHR to see about getting some extra grip and it was an absolute disaster when it came time to pedal. Ended up leaving the DHF on but putting the DHR back on the rear. I feel like it was a good compromise.

They are great when they are new but as you put miles on them and the tread wears I thought they sucked. I replaced my generals with about half tread life because in the rain they liked to hydroplan.
