Exo is too light of a sidewall. On the front go minimum with the new exo+. Grip wise the Assegai or dhf front or good bit Assegai rear is draggy and makes a difference on the high speed jump lines. I’d go dhr2 rear in the dd casing with a liner.
I have had Lauffen summer tires for a year. I had no problems with these tires.
I ran Exo for a year and ride on trails littered with basalt which is known to have very sharp edges, never had an issue with sidewall slicing.
EXO is plenty for XC and most trail riding IMO.
I run Exo casing and have had zero flats or issues. Had over 60 rides on the last pair. Would recommend
I run exo casing on my dhrii & haven’t had any punctures
I’ve run EXO tyres for years without any problems.
Not my favorite tire but rubber and casing make a bigger difference than tread patterns. Especially in the roots and rocks. I'd take a 3c Maxxis anything over a Kenda every time.
I am not a fan of ardents. They roll fast but have a habit of loosing grip when you least expect it and suck at regaining grip once they start to slide. I'm running Recons front and back and really like the set up. They roll pretty fast and are usually very predictable.
I love how lightweight and supple the DTH are. Really fast, even though they're quite baloony. But they are one of the worst tires when it comes to puncture protection: I already knew that they're prone to flats when I rode the 37-451 Silkworm version. But the 26" MaxxPro version is just as bad. Tiny glass shards find their way to the tube as if they went through butter.
