Tires Kumho or Shinko

Kumho Tires

I decided to swap the OEM Kumho tires for a set of CC2s with just 350 miles on the car.

My butt sensor says the CC2s ride a lot more softly than the OEM Kumhos. The ride feels more compliant and less sharp over potholes, expansion joints, etc. I find the CC2's ride to be noticeably better than the Kumhos. The CC2s also solved 90% of the steering wheel vibration issue.

Pros: softer ride, more compliant
Cons: efficiency, noise impact
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 350 km

Rating 4.0

I have kumho tires on my car. I bought it brand new in 2020 and they are just getting to the point where I will probably need to replace them in the next few months. I have 39,000 miles on my car so I guess that's pretty good for a mid-grade tire.

Pros: good mileage, mid-grade tire
Cons: valve dry rotted
Mileage: 62764 km

Kumho Tires

In that size, and I know because I run the same, is the unsexy (and unbothered by it) Kumho Ecsta V730. Good tire, quick tire, lives well with the heat, takes abuse from camber limited cars, and is the cheapest super 200 out there.

Pros: quick tire, lives well
Cons: unsexy

Kumho Tires

I change from then OEM hankook ventus2 to high performance all season Kumho Ecsta PA51 and I love the,. They handle almost as good as the OEM summer performance tires but are much safer in winter, even though Texas winters aren’t terribly cold it does snow here and does drop, below freezing. It’s simply unsafe to drive summer tires below freezing. The kumhos handle very welll to and they are not expensive. And highly recommend.

Pros: handle very well, not expensive
Cons: slight drop in EM mpge
Vehicle: MINI
Mileage: 12000 km

Kumho Tires

Replaced my oem kumhos at 35k. Replaced them with Phantom CSports. ($850 for the set). No complaints and the range doesn't looked to be effected by more than a few miles.

Pros: no complaints
Cons: range slightly affected
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 35000 km

Kumho Tires

I've had cheap Kumho ECSTA AST's. That you get what you paid for, when money is tight. Their ECSTA Platinum LX was a much better tire, and actually didn't have wear issues which the PQ46 chassis is known for (feathering). Decent grip.

Pros: decent grip, no wear issues
Cons: cheap, need to be careful

Kumho Tires

I had to replace all 4 Kuhomos at about 12k as I blew two out. Now sitting at 24k and they’re almost halfway worn on one set.

Cons: blew two out

Kumho Tires

That’s probably the number 1 thing I research when I buy tires now, I hate the loud hum some tires get as they wear. I’ve had two sets of Kumhos and I won’t be buying a third.

Cons: loud hum as they wear
Vehicle: Ford
