Tires Kumho or Nokia
I live in New England and run Nokians for my winter tires on both my wife's and my cars. On hers, we run the WRG4 which is a super winter biased all season tire, really good cold-dry performance, 9/10 in the snow.
I run some Nokian Hakkapollita R2's on some 17x7.5\" wheels for winter and all I can say is the 17's make you feel like you're riding on a cloud.
But lately I've been going with the Nokian Hackapillita's for extra grip in the snow. The Nokians wear better in back road snow drifts.
I've used Sumitomo and Kumhos performance summer tires with success - although the Kumho PA31's I put on the Fit have worn super fast and are now quite loud.
Wrapped in Kumho Ecsta V720 tires, have less than 5000 miles on them
Kumho AT51 have been really good. Really quiet, great in winter, but feels like you driving on ice at high speeds (80mph) which is expected from these tires.
I would go for the kumho tires out of those 3, they make some decent tires.
Id be looking at either the nokian wrg3 if you get an actual good amount of snow or michelin defender if you have a wimpy southern winter
Nokian Entyres = :thumbup::thumbup: after 2 months and about 2000 miles. Nokian WRG2's = :thumbdown::thumbdown: after 20,000 miles
I have the R2 on my Golf R and I have to say I regret them. I wish I got the WRG3 that are on my wife's car. The R2 is better on unplowed roads, but sucks on a groomed road.
