Tires Kumho or NANKANG

NANKANG Tires

They don’t seem to have got a mention yet, but the generally accepted ‘best track tyre for lowest price’ is the Nankang NS-2R. Right at the bottom of the price range for semi-slicks so obviously it’s performance isn’t at the same level as bigger brands semi-slicks, or eve Nankang’s own AR-1s (which most agree is a genuinely good semi-slick), but performs better on track than more expensive road/summer tyres in the dry.

Pros: best track tyre, lowest price
Cons: doesn't deal well wet
Vehicle: Toyota MR2

I just put a set of Kumho Solus TA11 on mine. Smooth, quiet, balanced well. No complaints here.

Kumho Tires

Generally the only times I've had issues with Kumho is on lower profile tires giving on the sidewall, but generally they are an all around good tire

Pros: all around good tire
Cons: issues with sidewall

Kumho Tires

Kuhmo XS will outperform the Hankook V12 but won't be as good as the aforementioned Star Spec or RS3 or RE11. XS is very sensitive to temperature and rain as it needs to have heat in it for it to work well.

Pros: outperforms Hankook V12
Cons: sensitive to temperature, rain

NANKANG Tires

Wish I knew about cupping. Put new tires on in January and they must have cupped, the cabin is loud as hell. Nankang NS-20 235/35/19 - were nice thru about mid February.

Pros: were nice thru February
Cons: cabin is loud as hell
