Tires Kumho or Cooper

Cooper Tires

I bought 4 new Cooper tires and 1 of them developed a defect 6 months and 2/32 of use. Cooper tire stood behind their tire and gave me a free replacement and reimbursed me for mounting and balancing. I've purchased Cooper tires in the past and will continue to do so. They're a great AMERICAN manufacturer.

Pros: free replacement, good manufacturer
Cons: developed a defect

I have a pair of Cooper Discoverer tires on my Nissan. They are really quiet on the highway and very good on non-paved terrain like gravel and mud. Can’t speak for snow, don’t get a whole lot in my area. They are super tough too. I’ve screamed the side wall and nothing happened. I’ve had a nail go into the tread sideways and it didn’t puncture the tire. The only thing I will say is they pick up small debris like rocks if you spend a lot of time off road. But I would highly recommend them.

Pros: Quiet on highway, good off-road, super tough
Cons: Picks up small debris
Vehicle: Nissan

I just got myself a set of Cooper discoverer stronghold ATs 275/60/20. They were just released and according to my tire guy they are to compete with the falken wildpeaks. Got a really good price on them compared to the falkens and so far I have nothing but good things to say. If I remember correctly they are quite a bit lighter than other comparable tires. My mileage didn’t budge switching from 31.9” tires to 33”.

Pros: Good price, lighter, no MPG change, positive experience

I personally like the Cooper AT3 XLT. Aggressive tread but quiet and very stable on pavement. Great wet traction.

Pros: Aggressive tread, quiet, stable on pavement, great wet traction

If you are looking for something cheaper,

Kumho Majesty 9 solus can also be an option

Their noise around the same level as top brand grand tourinf tires... like pirelli p7 as 3 or micherlin mxv4, continental pure contact.

very good at dry weather and acceptable at wet,

ride quality is good, but soso steering response.

Snow traction is vevevevery bad with this tire, almost the level if summer tire, but its georgia.

personally, I liked it.

Pros: good ride quality
Cons: soso steering response

I have a set of Cooper 225/60/18 snow tires that grip really well, but I don't like the way they drive. The skinniness makes turning feel loose, and it feels like the car is going to flip (though it definitely isn't).

Pros: grip really well
Cons: turning feel loose

Kumho Tires

In a year and a half of having these tires I’ve had 3 flats and 1 slow leak on the sidewall of a a tire… needless to say, I’ll never get kumho’s ever again

Cons: many flats, slow leak
