Tires Hankook or Vredestein

Hankook Ventus Noble 2. Good W-rated tires, high skid plate rating, wears well if run a few pounds hot.

My best experiences have been with Hankook I-pike studless snows. I'd be willing to bet that they could hang with or out perform some of the pricier options listed here. They are great when roads are wet too.

Hankook Ice Pike's are the best all around snow tire that have used. Wear, road noise and dry handling were much better than Bridgestone's, and any of the others that I have tried over the years. No perceivable loss in snow traction on a TSX wagon under normal snow conditions.

My private car is equipped with all season Vredestein Quatrac 5, and the company car has 2 sets, the winter being Continental TS860.

Wears like iron, just like the R-S3, but doesn't need as much heat to work. I can leave the sprayer at home and just ignore them.

It'll be a huge leap over those junk Hankooks.

Get Hankooks or Firestones if you want to save a couple of bucks, while still having a great tire.

Vredstein is a great tire. I ran them in quite a few audis. the best winter tires I ever ran

My 2017 Beetle S came with the tires specified immediately below...Hankook Kinergy GT...Originally, tire wear appeared to be proceeding well...After the 16,000 mile service...I noticed the centers of two tires...to have lost the siping \u2013 classic over-inflation indicator...Recently at 19,000 miles I noted the front tires...had lost the center siping \u2013 again signifying over-inflation...I am not particularly surprised at the center wear as I think a load index of 95 is fairly high for this vehicle...I cannot imagine 60,000 miles for these tires.

I have the Ventus V12s on my SLK in the Bay Area too. Very similar tire. They absolutely suck at displacing water. I can legit lose the back end in heavy rain at medium speeds. The grip and launch in the summer is great, but they are simply not designed for water displacement.
