Tires Hankook or OEM Chevrolet

Hankook Tires

I was leaning towards the Hankook because of the great ratings. But I’ve also had to replace one on my factory continental tires a few months ago because I got a flat.

Pros: great ratings
Cons: flat tire issue

Hankook Tires

I got a good deal on hankook extreme at2 rf12. They look good and are 3 peak rated. They have been fantastic in the snow compared to the stock Goodyear wranglers. Also have a 70k mile warranty, but we’ll see if they actually last that long.

Pros: fantastic in the snow
Cons: longevity uncertain
Part number: RF12

Hankook Tires

I put them on earlier this month. They seem quiet to me. My Pirellis were down to 2/32” and they are *infinitely* more quiet than that lol

Pros: seem quiet
Cons: verdict still out on range

Just replaced factory continentals with the Hankook Ion Evo as SUV and couldn\u2019t be happier. Discount tire was $1500 otd. I put 900 miles down on them over a road trip for thanksgiving and can confidently say they are better than the factory tires. \n\nSuper quiet, great in wet.

Pros: Super quiet, great in wet

Hankook Tires

I am at 25k in 13 months with 4/32 on my rear and 6/32 on the fronts of my Y Performance (can’t rotate due to staggered wheels). I have the Hankook Ion Evo AS suv tires. Those only start at 8.5/32 new from Tesla vs 10/32 for the replacement version. Not bad, if I was able to rotate I would have averaged 3.5/32 of wear over 25k miles. They still have pretty good traction, was able to fully launch in the recent nor’easter storm with slippage only on painted lines (testing to see how traction is in full rain, pretty impressive). But, there are now turns or on/off ramps that the rear wants to step out when applying a little more power than I should, was able to practically drift it around a ramp during the same storm.

Pros: good traction, impressive in rain
Cons: rear steps out, loss of grip
Mileage: 40233 km

The OEM Hankooks (on my 24') go full slip and slide mode if there's a drop of water on the road anywhere within 3 miles.

I can turn the "heavy steering" wheel with two pinched fingers and just my wrist when driving. It's not a big deal.

Diff breather mod.

Check the rain channels on the roof for cracking paint. Dealer should fix that as it's considered a workmanship warranty, else you can apply clear coat to the spots yourself to seal them when it inevitably cracks again.

If a leaf ever gets under the moulding/gasket around the windshield it can and will sound like your front speakers are crackling and dying when driving past 60 MPH and make your blood pressure go up trying to figure out what the hell is making that noise.

Pros: steering wheel light
Cons: poor wet traction, cracking paint, windshield gasket noise
Vehicle: Nissan

When I had those tires mounted on my 3, they wore extremely rapidly - so much so that the rep at Discount Tire was surprised.

Cons: rapid wear
