I’ve had AS4 and now have DWS06+. The Conits have 90% of the sportiness but way better in terms of noise and comfort. Both have really good absolute grip levels so that’s kind of a wash. It’s more about feel than true limits.

Pros: better noise and comfort
Cons: less sportiness

Continental DWS 06 Plus is also an amazing A/S tire and more reasonably priced than the Michelins. I've put 20,000 miles on my SQ5 with them. Still quiet, great ride, handle excellent in the wet and dry. Until something better comes along, it's the only tire I'll buy.

Pros: quiet, great ride
Cons: more reasonably priced
Vehicle: Audi SQ5
Mileage: 32186 km

I buy all my GP5000s from AliExpress. They weigh the same, feel the same and lasted me 3000-4000 km before I have to change them just like the “originals” I bought from a reputable bike shop.

Pros: weigh the same, feel same
Mileage: 3500 km

Hankook Tires

Did the switch today. Ill try to report back on range. over original 47.5K miles, i was getting 289 kw/mile on 2020 LR MY with 20 inch inductions and OG goodyears. Madison Wi weather pattern. I am pretty fanatical about maxing out range on highway (drafting behind sprinter vans, etc) so curious to see what happens. Even if range stays the same, worth it for tire cost reduction, comfort, and pothole protection. I plan on using these year round as I am not a fast or aggressive driver and just want cheaper tires and better winter performance than the horrible good years.

Pros: tire cost reduction, comfort
Mileage: 47500 km

I went with the Hankook (I know you said you didn't want them but wanted to share my experience) and have been very happy with them. Live in Sweden and we have this winter received unusually much of both black ice and deep snow. The Hankook's have worked surprisingly well during this winter as well as the dryer and warmer period before the winter arrived (got them after summer).

Pros: worked surprisingly well

I was a loyal GP4000/5000 rider but had to switch a few years back. I think they changed something and it not only became harder to mount them, but it was impossible to break the bead and remove them. I switched to Vittorias but really miss the feel of the GPs. I feel much more confident descending on them.

Pros: confident descending
Cons: harder to mount, impossible remove

I bought Continental LX25’s. They felt unsure, unstable, kind of jittery right from day 1 at high speed. New replacement set feels slightly better but still not smooth as glass. The steering wheel doesn’t shake, but I feel through the seat and floor a sense of unsteadiness. Like the car is a bit jittery, where the Michelins felt smooth as glass. BUT - I also can’t believe these tires are so junky. They weren’t cheap tires. They feel great up to 50mph , ok from 50-65, and then above 70 it’s jittery.

Pros: great up to 50mph
Cons: unsure, unstable, jittery
Mileage: 50000 km
