Tires Hankook or Continental

Hankook Tires

Rating 4.0

My recommendation is the "other" OEM tire, Hankook's Kinergy series. On my RWD 22, they've lasted 35k miles so far and are still not near replacement. Unlike the Bridgestone's they are solid and you almost never hear a bad word from those that lucked out and got them.

Pros: solid, long lasting
Cons: none
Mileage: 35000 km

have the same setup on my Tahoe, except my rims are 22x9.5. Not bad honestly, really no complaints. The mpg is terrible. I always think I'm speeding but I'm just not, kind of a slow ride, but I enjoy driving and listening to music. It still had get-up at high rpms. I got the v8 tho so might make a difference. Hope this helps

Pros: no complaints
Cons: mpg is terrible

They felt so sketchy I went out and dropped 800 on continentals and I can barely make them break traction and can corner way harder. Feel more planted and safe.

Pros: planted, safe, corner harder
Cons: sketchy

My wife purchased a used Acura Integra. When I drove it just didn't handle as precise as I expected. We replaced them with.... Continental. All of a sudden the handling was much better and safer.

Pros: handling was much better
Cons: handling not precise

You could save some money and have better handling by choosing something that's not run flat. I use Continental Extreme Contact tires (\~$947 installed with no alignment at Les Schwab, and yes I could have gotten them cheaper elsewhere but LS gives out credit like it's free candy) and I love them so far...

Pros: better handling, love them

Continental Tires

I have them, I have a couple hundred miles on them and no issues. My experience however, keep them on pavement, I tried going over some light gravel to take a break and they slipped quite a bit.

Pros: no issues on pavement
Cons: slipped on gravel
Mileage: 322 km

Hankook Tires

Hankook iPikes. Bought used missing only 1/32 tread from factory new. $150 for the set from someone that sold the Hyundai they were on to get a Toyota SUV (don’t recall which one). I don’t care for them, being used to a higher tier of winter tire. They slip more on ice and snow grip is decent but I’ve had better in Blizzaks, or the best in Hakkapelitas.

Pros: decent snow grip
Cons: slip more on ice
