Same tires. Same smiles. Best bang for the buck BY FAR. Dry grip is incredible compared to goodyear eagle f1's and continental sport contact. Not to mention they're inexpensive. I've got 10k miles and they show little signs of wear.

Pros: incredible dry grip, inexpensive
Cons: little signs of wear
Mileage: 10000 km

Its been dry, and they have been fairly broken in by now. Steering response is fantastic compared to the old tires. But I have to agree with tire rack that there isn't much feedback. there is definitely more tread noise on the interstate. GRIP, WOW, This things cling harder than an ex girlfriend with abandonment issues. If you can live with a little more harshness its a night and day difference between this tire and the OE contis.

Pros: fantastic steering response, great grip
Cons: more tread noise, more harshness

I have a set of Indy 500s mounted to 19" rims on my GLI, been running them since January. Couldn't be happier, they are truly well rounded performance tires. They are awesome on wet roads, they have good acceleration/braking and corner grip. For the price and performance they are a good deal.

Pros: awesome on wet roads, good grip
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I just had a set of firehawk indy 500 tires installed on my car on monday. I thought i would share my feedback as to how they perform on the car. Steering response... Wow This is so much better. the car is way more willing to turn. there is less delay between the steering wheel and the car moving. Wet traction is a huge step up. Ride. I havent noticed a huge Decline in the ride. Noise, at city speeds the noise has been minimal, no real difference.

Pros: better steering response, huge wet traction
Cons: more tread noise

I'm 2 months into my fire hawk indy 500's...I CANNOT believe they're so cheap. I'm not expecting much more than 30k miles, but they grip exceptionally well even when I expected understeer, the car maintained its line. They're easily the stiffest tire I've ever owned. That can be a good and bad thing.

Pros: grip exceptionally well
Cons: stiffest tire ever owned

So far I haven't really pushed them, and I don't do much more than just some very quick backroad driving and highway miles. I've had them for almost a month (even in below / near freezing) and haven't had any issues unless there was snow on the road (obviously since they're summer tires).

Pros: easy choice, good ratings
Cons: haven't really pushed them

Another vote for the Firestone Winterforce tires... Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with LOTS of snow, and I travel the entire area. Most of what we get is snow, minimal ice, and after experimenting with several different brands we go back to the Winterforce every time.

Pros: works in lots of snow
Cons: somewhat noisy

Triangle Tires

I drove a set of Triangle Talon tires for a year on my SVT. Dry traction was surprisingly not terrible but they were AWFUL in the slightest hint of wet weather. Forget cold weather.

Pros: decent dry traction
Cons: awful in wet weather
