Tires Firestone or SUMITOMO
I had a set of Indy500; they performed well for a UHP for the price, but definitely noticeable difference with the set of Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02s that replaced them.
General G-Max RS or Firestone Indy 500s are solid options aswell with good grip and way friendlier pricing. I ran Indy 500s on my old Camaro and they felt great in normal driving without being loud or sketchy in the rain.
Cooper and Firestone make decent tires if you don't plan on tracking it.
Shockingly fantastic in winter slop. I was expecting them to be bad compared to my Sumitomos. Nope. Even better in slop. 100% recommended. Great in the dry with very low noise and super highway tracking. Finally found the grail of cheap and awesome.
Sumitomo is a fantastic tire. I run their summer tires all year around ( In Texas, heavy sedan ) very stable at 85 mph+, quiet and stay planted.
Those are good tires but way too heavy at 44lbs vs 24lbs for stock tires. They will kill your mileage and performance. I went with Firestone destination at2 in 235/65 r17. Only a few pounds more (28lbs) than stock and they perform great!
Sumitomo tires wildly out perform their price tag. Have had them on a bunch of cars over the years and have never been unhappy about it.
Previously, Sumitomo P03 that I got rid of at 35k because LOUD. Otherwise durable and great in snow. A little unsettled at speed.
I went to them for new tires on my Hyundai, my car had 96k on the originals, the wear was even and they still had decent tread. Guess what, they said I needed alignment.
