For performance tires, the best bang for buck is the Firehawk Indy 500. I have them on my Skyline and they transformed the feel. There's more grip, I'm more confident in it, and they didn't cost a ton of money. Plus they look awesome.
ive commented a few times about these tires, theyre great. grippy enough for fun, compliant enough for daily drivability, and cheap enough that you can replace them at will. highly recommend.
From what I've read, the Indy 500s are superior to my stock tires in every way and are also $70/tire cheaper.
I use these a summer tire on my BRZ and they're great, they tick all the boxes at a great price. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely better tires, but I could get two sets of these for the price of Michelins.
I literally just installed these last night on my car. I totally agree with you. Look great, road noise is great, and grip is great and very noticeable.
I've had these on my Civic SI for over a year. They aren't as good in grip as PS4S's but far better than the budget tires I've driven on in the same price range. They seem to fare better under heat than the Extreme Contact Sports, and are predictable.
I felt the difference immediately in terms of grip and also road noise ( of which I was most presently surprised). Had a couple rainy days and I can say I have never experienced tires that can grip so well in the rain. These tires however I never had an issue in terms of grip they just love to hug the road and make the car feel so planted.
I ended up with the firestones. I know they are not the best winter tire but I'd take them over an A/T in the winter. I got my moneys worth the day I put them on because we got a decent "wet" snow storm and the main road out of our neighborhood was closed do to an accident as usual. I had to take a alternate rout which is a steep curvy 1 lane road and I was one of the few to make it all they way out without spending time in the ditch or guardrails.
We just replaced set of Firestones, less than 8000 miles by previous owner, that got hard and tried to disintegrate when we weren’t paying attention; chunks were coming off! Never seen a tire do that before unless it was old.
I had vibration problems on my ‘16 GTI (at 75+ MPH) with new Firehawk Indy 500’s on new Neuspeed hub centric wheels too. Balanced 3 times still the same problem. Swapped into different tires. Problem completely solved.
