Tires Firestone or GENERAL TIRE

Firestone Tires

I've had a FWD Corolla for 12 years and it has gotten me through the worst kind of storms in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and here in NL with Firestone Winterforce tires. I swear by them! I've gotten through conditions in snow storms that even big jacked up 4 wheel drive trucks got stuck in.

Pros: gotten through worst storms

I know I'll probably get shit for this but, General. I specifically bought the Grabber APT; I've had 0 problems with them, and I would 100% buy them again.\n\nThey were the best-quality tire for what I was willing to spend, since I was also going to a new wheel size and needed different wheels.

Pros: best quality tire

I have the Generals on my 2000 Boxster. They are pretty good. I can take a 90° turn off a hiway road onto another hiway at 55mph, 60 mph is the edge of traction for a 320 treadwear tire. Spins out at 65mph.

Being picky I wish the sidewalls were a little stiffer. The ride is plusher than the Sumitomo HTR(another not bank breaking option) in my opinion.

Pros: pretty good, plusher ride
Cons: sidewalls little stiffer
Vehicle: Porsche

I've been pretty happy with the cost/benefit of Firestone Indyhawk/Indy500/whatever they're calling them these days, on the stock wheels. They don't last long (I get 10-15k miles out of a set) but they're damn cheap ($650-$750), and break traction quite easily and predictably, if you enjoy going a little sideways often. I usually am running the Flying Miata alignment specs with these tires break loose fantastically easily and enjoyable for me on that alignment. On a factory alignment though they are reasonably grippy for spirited street driving. Again though the biggest benefit of them is they are super widely available (because Firestone) and CHEAP.

Pros: good cost/benefit, predictable traction, widely available, cheap, reasonably grippy
Cons: don't last long
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 16093 km

I’ve had both the firestones and pilot sports on my corvette. The wet weather grip on the PS is much better. I would fishtail pretty regularly with the firestones. Would not recommend if you plan to drive in the rain.

Cons: poor wet grip, fishtail regularly
