Tires FEDERAL or GT Radial

FEDERAL Tires

So I have the 595 evos on my Genesis Coupe. Tire wear is pretty good I've had them for 3 seasons now and I'll likely get a 4th out of them. They have a veeerrry stiff sidewall and are quite difficult to mount/dismount. They're very responsive and turn in is very good. They grip and grip and grip in the dry, but in the wet they're not very confidence inspiring. They also run slightly bigger than the size listed.

Pros: good tire wear, very responsive
Cons: stiff sidewall, difficult mount
Vehicle: Hyundai Genesis Coupe

FEDERAL Tires

I run 595 evo's in the rear on my M3, they were cheap as fuck ($75/tire from amazon) and seem to have the longest tread life of any tire I've ran. Typically I get 5k-7k miles on my rear tires and I've had these for 7k now and there's a lot of life left. They wear super evenly too, grip in the dry is perfect, wet is fine unless you get on it, then of course you spin a little.

Pros: longest tread life, even wear
Cons: spin a little when wet
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 11265 km

FEDERAL Tires

I use them on my 240sx, if you are just autocrossing for fun and to gain experience they are great, but not competitive compared to other tires legal in street/stock classes.

Pros: great for fun, gain experience
Cons: not competitive
Vehicle: Nissan

GT Radial Tires

Currently running GTRadial Chamiro UHP1 tires and am about to install my 2nd set. They are CHEAP and almost as good at the Direzza Star Specs on my Porsche. I was shocked I got 20k miles out of them, they grip really well and don't get greasy easily at the track.

Pros: good grip, cheap
Mileage: 20000 km

I have heard good things about GT Radials... I use "Road Hugger GT Eco" (aka Kumho something or other) and they have been great. Low noise, (relatively) good grip for being low rolling resistance.

Pros: low noise, good grip

GT Radial Tires

I bought a set of GT radial Champiro with the expectation that it will be just a crap daily driver set. They actually have really good grip for non race tires. Seriously, so much so that when I put the front set on and went to autocross, it caused my car to spin out because the front had more grip than the rear.

Pros: good grip, cheap price
Cons: wont last long

Feds are okay budget performance tires IMO. There's a fair bit of trade offs too. Grip isn't as good as PSS or even DWs IMO, though with the latter the difference isn't that great. Despite lower grip levels mpg was worse.

Pros: okay budget performance
Cons: lower grip, worse mpg
