Better tires. The Telly is actually pretty capable off-road on mild trails/loose terrain/snow/etc. with the right tires. The standard Michelin Primacys won't cut it though. I put some Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires and now this thing handles this stuff better than my '21 Bronco did. (2024 EX AWD).
I went with Falken all season light offroad and they make the car look awesome and feels good in the city.
Falken makes pretty good rain friendly quality tires
Finally bought bigger tires, Falken Wildpeak A/T 255/55r18, and couldn’t be happier. Even without NVH foam, the ride is quieter, smoother, and less bumpy.
When the OEM tires wore out, I replaced them with Falken Wildpeaks. My 14 has 221,000 miles on it.
Yes legit! Bought Yokohama tires way back 2019 before pandemic in S&R BGC.
Ran the Falkens on my Gladiator and on my current Wrangler in New England and loved them. They are fantastic in the snow and ice and not overly loud.
Yokohama ad08rs on my Miata. The other is very good for fast driving, but it doesn't last long and is very not good in the wet
I put Falken Ziex (65k) on a Honda Civic 10th Gen. didn’t even make it to 40k. Never again. Rotated every oil change (5k). I know the heat had something to do with it (Florida) but the streets here are smooth as butter.
Today was my first drive into work on the new Yokohama YK-GTX tires. I normally average just over 5mi/kw, today it was just over 4mi/kw. I expected some range hit with new tires, but this seems a bit much. Is this expected, or is their arbitrary range scoring complete garbage?
