Tires Falken or SUMITOMO

Falken Tires

My Falken tires are extremely affordable and they grip better than my Pirellis in every real-world situation that I’ve needed the grip.

Pros: grip better
Cons: null

Just put on 265/65/18 SL wildpeak at4w on an otherwise stock 2012 GX and can confirm that they will fit with no rubbing. Compared to the Michelin latitudes that were on before, the feel on the road is noticeably better, i.e. more plush but also more planted... if that makes sense. Road noise is minimal difference in my mind but I have a skybox on top so maybe I'm just used to it. Being in pnw, wet traction is a must and these should do the trick.

Pros: more plush, more planted
Cons: minimal road noise

Have a set on Mustang Gt for over a year. Absolutely no issues whatsoever. Quiet, decent in the rain, better grip than the Falkens it replaced.

Pros: Quiet, decent in rain
Cons: No snow experience

SUMITOMO Tires

Falken’s parent company sumitomo makes the encounter AT with similar performance for much cheaper, it’s what I’m running currently and they’re great

Pros: great performance, much cheaper

I have a set of Falken FK510s on my car. Pretty cheap, enough grip that with an upgraded rmm but without a torque gussett bar I still get pretty gnarly wheel hop. Proper grip especially in the wet which is kinda wild, and I've made it through a couple winters with them in Ohio.

Pros: proper grip in wet
Cons: gnarly wheel hop

My car came with Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 with about 19k on them. I bought it after a blizzard and was pleasantly surprised at how capable the tires are. We've subsequently had torrential rain and they grip great in the wet too.

The downside is that they're quite noisy.

Pros: capable tires, great grip
Cons: quite noisy
Mileage: 30577 km

Falken Tires

i trash mine, and i’ve never had one go flat. last time i had my truck serviced they pulled 9 nails out of my Falkens & they were all still holding pressure (i work in construction). obviously i replaced them all but the fact they were holding air still made me just buy another set.

Pros: holding air still
Cons: pulled 9 nails
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 120700 km

Lol...same story here. I realized I've bought and mounted AT3WA instead of AT3W only few weeks later, as I could not believe those on pictures looked so different. These DOT aprovals for Europe are needed and US based tire companies simply do not apply for those since they have large enough market in US and Down under.

Honestly I was quite satisfied with AT3WA on road, wet and snowy, but they look so sissy I got rid of them.

Pros: satisfied on road
Cons: look so sissy

Falken Tires

I replaced my factory tires at only 9000 miles. then I purchased falcon wildpeaks that wore down so fast that I was able to prorate the tire warranty at only 18,000 miles usage.

Pros: prorated tire warranty
Cons: wore down fast
Mileage: 9000 km
