x2 for Falkens, i've had a set of 512's and 912's, great tire, even better price
Your tires are one of the main factors contributing to the wheelspin. If its a big enough issue, get a dedicated summer tire like the Dunlop Star Spec or Falken Azenis 615. I have had both of those tires on high powered FWD cars and they make a big difference.
I really like Falken, far better bang for the buck than BFG, or Pirelli IMHO. Had Ziex on my wrx, and on a few cars since. Great tires.
I have falkens on my acura mdx on 20s. they're a summer high performance tire. make my SUV handle like a porsche. LOVE THEM.
Have Falkens on my '03 Civic Si. No problems in the wet and I'm in South Florida. Replaced original Michelins with them with no regrets. They're a pretty good tire in my opinion.
Falken makes a pretty decent tire. I don't think they have high performance, but for a daily driver, they're pretty good.
I had the same tire in 245-45-17 (I think that was it) with a 99 load rating on my former '00 and liked them a lot. Quiet, comfortable, decent handling, and great price at the time.
I ran 615 on the street as well as a half dozen or so autocross events and saw ~15K miles out of the set.
I've had several cars of the $150 variety. The best was a 1990 VW Fox that I bought for $150 from the original owner. I then proceeded to drive it about 150K before I spent another cent on it besides oil tires and gas.
The Falkens suck I would never put them on my car, but they are WAY better tires than Ling Long... Ling Long, Nexen, Nankang = never ever EVER. I wouldn't trust these tire brands on my bicycle, let alone the machine holding my butt inches above the ground going 90 on the freeway.
