Falken Winterpeaks. I find they’re just as good as Blizzaks, but cheaper.
I had a set of Falken Azenis RT615K+ for about a year, they were great.
I had Wildpeak ATW3’s on my old Frontier. Great tire. I also had DynaPro At2’s on that truck and they were ok as well, nothing amazing.
Fallen wildpeak trail at. Great tires. 3 peak snow rated. Fabulous tires. Took a couple mpg hit over previous tires.
I am running Falken winter tires, they are SWEET.
My wife’s CX-5 has these tires and I can definitely vouch that they look awesome, handle snow very well, and do great “off-road.” Miles better than the stock tires.
I did replace with wildpeaks on my Crosstrek and I have to say they're 10/10, would buy again. No additional road noise, handles well on the road, and significantly better performance off the pavement.
Just an update, I managed to find 2 sets of Nokian Haka R3 a few hours prior to my trip to Leavenworth, WA. Got out of two snow storms without a problem. These tires are bomb!
I drive the same car and drive in rain seven months of the year and snow frequently when going skiing and the Nokian Hakka R3s take all the fun out of it. The remove the drama of water over the road, and sadly, near completely remove one's ability to drift across snowy parking lots. Even in the worst weather I am limited more by cars around me than I am my own confidence when driving this combination of Swedish and Finnish (I think) brilliance.
Definitely know the falken tires would do bad In snow even with AWD.
