Tires Falken or Kumho

Falken Tires

Falken makes a pretty decent tire. I don't think they have high performance, but for a daily driver, they're pretty good.

Pros: pretty good daily driver
Cons: no high performance

I had the same tire in 245-45-17 (I think that was it) with a 99 load rating on my former '00 and liked them a lot. Quiet, comfortable, decent handling, and great price at the time.

Pros: quiet, comfortable, decent handling

Kumho Tires

on my Golf with only Koni Sport adjustable dampers and Kumho XS tires, I regularly set faster autocross times than many of the \"darling\" cars in faster classes in my local autocross events

Pros: faster autocross times

Kumho Tires

Try the Kumho ASX. They were quieter than any other tire I've tried. Much more so than the awful Goodyear RS-As.

Pros: quieter than other tires
Cons: awful Goodyear RS-As

Kumho Tires

I ran the Kumho XS (250/50 15 on a 2006 Mazda 2) last summer and found them to be fairly comparable to the superceded Bridgestone RE01R, albeit much cheaper. I did 4-5 autocross sessions on them on top of 'spirited' drives in the local mountains every weekend. My fronts lasted just under 3000 miles to slick and the rears around double that, but I do have a fairly aggressive alignment.

Pros: fairly comparable, much cheaper
Cons: fronts lasted under 3000 miles
Vehicle: Mazda 2
Mileage: 4828 km

i was going to get falken 512 in the 195 50 15s and save me $40 for the set, but 195 45 15 never been there, mine as well and try it out! rides comfortably as 195 50 15 doesn't feel any different from the 50 series!

Pros: rides comfortably
Cons: didnt really stretch

I currently have a set of Falken's 225-40-18 and I must say that I have gotten about 23k out of them and at about the 20k the tires had cracks all over, the handling wasnt great but wasnt bad, they are not noisy in my opinion.

Pros: not noisy
Cons: cracks all over, handling not great
Mileage: 23000 km

Compared to the Dunlop SP-5000 Sports on my GLI, which have a couple years on them at this point and only cost $74 apiece, the Falkens are awful; they don't grip, they're ugly, and they're noisy.

Cons: don't grip, ugly, noisy
Vehicle: Volkswagen
