If you need to remain budget conscious, I would recommend Nexen or Falken. The Nexen Winguard Sport 2 or Falken Winterpeak would be a good budget winter tire.
Nice set up! I have had mine on for 100k miles they’re definitely the best tires I have ever bought. Just bought my second pair and hoping to get another 100k.
I have a pair of A/T3s on my Crosstrek and love them. Falken makes a dang good tire.
I put some Falken Ziex A/S on, no complaints. Was about $850 installed. Rides great, handles great
I got the wildpeak a/t trail on my hybrid...loved it, went on a snow drive to Tahoe and it's lovely
I've got the AT3W on my 4R with about 30k miles on them and I love them. They 275s in a C-load so they're HEAVY, but they're wearing great.
I’ve had my AT3’s for about 3 years now. I live in Arizona and drive in the desert a lot and occasionally rainy/snowy slush roads in the winter over never ever had a issue and the noise is minimal to me. Just overall a damn good tire.
Wildpeaks over all the others. I have hundreds of thousands of miles experience with all three and the Falkens are by far the best in all conditions and remain consistent over the life of tread. The KOs will get louder and offer less traction the more miles you put on them, the Toyos, in my experience don't last that long at all. My WPs have stayed relatively quiet and continued to offer the same traction on/offroad throughout their life, I've also been getting roughly 70-80k miles out of them before even considering replacing them.
The downside to the Falkens is that they're very heavy compared to the others. I noticed a sizeable drop in MPG for sure.
Tbh you get what you pay for. Not great. There’s others that make a better all season tire then falk and at the same price. But if you don’t mind a little higher I’d look at something like the cross climates Michelin has or the cooper endura max or the Nokian wr. Nokians are amazing but suffer from issues in really hot weather. I’d get the cooper endura for Ohio. Won’t disappoint you either. Amazing in winter and summer
Cheap Chinesium trash, rated at 40k miles but I would be shocked if you got much more than 20k-25k and the warranty is basically non-existent... And "all-season" tires really are 3-season tires these days, if you deal with any snow you want to look at all-weather tires like Falken Aklimate or General Altimax 365AW.
