Recently upgraded a W8 wagon to 17 inch wheels and General Exclaim UHP Z-rated tires from Tire Rack. So far delighted. General is a Continental subsidiary, tires are mfg in Germany. Amazing level of comfort for a Z-rated tire.
Well, I have a set of 512's but they are not stretched. However, they are the best tire I have owned to date for the price.
I've driven in quite heavy rain with them, and was quite impressed by their performance.
Just thought i would share this...this car has been built to make damn near zero lag and still 400whp, custom control arms and custom coil overs.... i can vouch for its good times
The Generals are great, i had a set of falkens on the car and my new wheels i put the generals on and the handling in the rain was way better, dry they might be a little sticker but i really don't push my car that hard so i really cant say.
I have these tires and i like them a lot. You should print out tireracks price, take it in to where your going to buy them and they should match the price. thats what i did and i got my 17's for 70$ something a peice.
Had em on my last 3 cars and the new one...Great tire but that's WAY too much for em..Tirerack.com should be more like $80 per tire.. Good in the rain and great around turns... It's NOT a snow tire though, it's a high performance summer tire. Overall I LOVE them...
I'm running 255/40-17 RT615s on 17x8 ET35. This is on a "regular" MK4, not an R32. It should not be an issue, the additional grip provided over 225/235 is noticeable.
225/40/18 falken ze512's on an 18x8.5" wheel - and those are correctly sized for the mk4 - rolled shoulder extreme...
yeah they can be scary in heavy downpours. i have to drive on the slow lane most of the time, because past 55-60, i'm hydroplaning. it's actually exciting in my opinion, but not safe at all.
