BRIDGESTONE Tires

Rating 4.5

The H rated 18" bridgestone dueler H/Ls seem to perform about 90% as well as the V rated OEM Contis that I replaced them with. IMO I gave up 10% of the sticky feel of the Contis for the awesome tread wear of the bridgestones...

Pros: awesome tread wear
Cons: less sticky feel

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I had the same problem with my Bridgestone Potenza RE050's. I contacted Bridgestone directly and they told me that they would warrranty my tires at a pro-rated cost. My tires had 20K on them and they met me halfway. I ended up with a brand new set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960A/S Pole Position's with UNI-T for $400 installed (Usually $800). I've had the tires for about 6 months and they are pretty quiet compared to the RE050's.

Pros: quieter than RE050's
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 20000 km

BRIDGESTONE Tires

The MZ-01s have served me very well in every aspect (never have been stuck, and I'm in a notoriously awful snow car) but dry driving, where they are incredibly squirmy (and now, with worn tread, dangerous in the wet).

Pros: served very well
Cons: squirmy on dry roads

Rating 4.0

Ok..prior to purchasing the Falken Ziex Ze 912 tires I couldn't really find many reviews on them so I figured I'd share my thoughts. Initial impression was they felt like they offered a more comfortable soft ride compared to the Dunlops. But the Dunlops gave a better sharper steering feel that is more responsive than the Falkens. The Dunlops had a better road feeling vs. the Falkens, which seem to feel more floaty and slower to respond. Drove the Falkens in the rain tonight and they felt pretty good. From a dead stop the Falkens gripped better with no wheel spin. Whereas the Dunlops would often spin out even when new. Falkens definitely performed better in the wet. In cornering, the Falkens seem like they have a stiffer sidewall, which I like. In comfort and noise, the Falkens definitely seem quieter than the Dunlops and absorb road bumps much better than the Dunlops.

Pros: comfortable soft ride, better grip
Cons: floaty, slower to respond
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I replaced the awful Goodyear Wranglers that came on my egg with Bridgestone H/L Alenzas @ about 800 miles. Although I've now done only about another 1K miles on the Bridgestones, I'm 100% pleased with the switch. They are HUGELY quieter and ride marginally better. Their wear rating is about 40% better than the Goodyears, and they are rated very highly by customers on the Tire Rack web site. In addition, you gain c. 200#/tire load capacity. I'd not hesitate to do the same thing again.

Pros: quieter, better ride
Mileage: 1609 km

Falken Tires

For the money, you cannot and will not find a better tire than the Falken Azenis RT-615 Had these on my DC2 Integra and used them for summer driving, autocross, HPDE, and they grip better for the money than any tire out there until you hit R compounds.

Pros: grip better for money

The Azenis grip way better than any other DOT tire in a near stock 14" size, sidewall stiffness gives quick response, the price is low.

Pros: better grip, quick response
Cons: 60 series sidewall

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Yes, WS50 are like bars of soap on dry roads. Almost dansgerously slick... Don't corner too hard on them, you'll be in the ditch fast. I had that wonderful experience on my 97 GTP... If you bear that in mind, they are phenomenal in snow and especially on ice

Pros: phenomenal in snow, ice
Cons: slick on dry roads

Falken Tires

yeah they can be scary in heavy downpours. i have to drive on the slow lane most of the time, because past 55-60, i'm hydroplaning. it's actually exciting in my opinion, but not safe at all.

Pros: exciting in rain
Cons: scary in downpours
