Tires DUNLOP or SUMITOMO
I have directional Sumitomo HTR-Z II tires and I don't have a single complaint after almost 6 months. Very quiet, great grip, great wear rating, and very good wet traction.
Just ordered some stock size tires from Tirerack - $51/tire for Dunlop SP Sport A2 - good reviews on there and they are cheap.
Dunlop SP 8000s 195/55-zr14. I love them. Do not use in the snow, though.
I second the D60/A2 vote...Dunlop just updated the design..the new name is sport A2 or something like that...haven't tried those new treads yet. These are all season though...is that what you want?
I'd recommed the Dunlop A2/60's in a 185/60R14 (obviously).. they handle well, last a long time (if you rotate them every 5000 miles or so), and they don't cost an arm and a leg..
I got a set of Sumitomo HTZII's and those are the shizzit, very responsive, good traction, and best of all super quiet.
New tires (Sumitomo HTR-4, 195/50/15) All parts replaced have been done in the last 10 miles.
I'll be putting on my Dunlop Winter Sport M2's in the next few weeks for the 3rd snow season and would echo INDIGO's points. I've been slightly disappointed on the snow performance as I've found quite a bit of understeer with these tires in snow.
I heard they sucked from the tire guy, so he sold me sp8k's...which I LOVE.
I'm running Sumitomo HTRZ-2's. Loved them for the first 10,000 miles and now I hate them.
