Tires Cooper or GENERAL TIRE

Cooper Tires

Always go AT tires, they provide the best of all worlds, especially when you don't take the vehicle off road. I swear by Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's and BFG T/A KO3's

Pros: best of all worlds

I just got my second set of Cooper Discoverers (225/70/R15).

The updated version are more aggressive looking and there’s a little more road noise now, but not bad.

My old set performed extremely well in rain, mud, snow, ice, and regular daily driving. They also outlasted their high mileage rating, and I’m averaging 27mpg on my 2016. Zero complaints.

Pros: performed well in rain
Cons: more road noise

I have had them since the end of February this year. Drives pretty quiet and has excellent road handling and performance, especially when raining. I am pretty happy with them.

Pros: quiet, excellent road handling
Cons: loss of GPM's

Cooper Tires

I put these on my 2024 Ford Maverick....Love them! Great look and feel, very grippy even on wet roads. Recently had a blowout due to me getting too close to a jersey wall (my fault no biggie).  Took a chunk out of the sidewall. The tire ran flat with only the remaining sidewall between the rim and the asphalt for a good 100' then gravel briefly.  The quality and thickness was evident in how quiet, controlled, and responsive the tire was till I was able to pull over; with no damage to the rim due to driving on it.

Pros: very grippy on roads
Cons: blowout due to accident

GENERAL TIRE Tires

General tires are the best out in my opinion. Even though they are owned by Continental they are a separate entity that does their own thing. The past 5 years I think general is the best because of quality, balance well, good tread life, quiet, etc.

Pros: quality, good tread life
Cons: Michelin is the best

I went with Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires on my’n as stock replacement and very happy with my choice so far.

My primary concern was handling of snow and wet slush on the highway and so far this winter they’ve done excellent. The tread design does have a lot small sipes/cuts that work great for just that. Did not notice any increase in noise from them either.

Pros: excellent handling of snow
Cons: none noticed

I currently have Altimax RT-45 tires on my Golf Sportwagen (TDI, 6 speed manual). I used to use all-weather tires like Toyota Celsius, which are great for moderate snow. But winters in New England have gotten so less snowy that the Generals are excellent. Good handling, good in the rain, quiet.

Pros: Good handling, good in rain

Cooper Tires

I threw a set of random non-EV Rated tires ( Cooper Adventurer All Seasons) on my car. From the new to old tires I got 0 change (though this might have been because my tires had a bubble and was causing issues) - My mileage ranges from 3.5-4.0mi/kW.

Pros: 0 change in mileage
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf
