I went from Kenda to Conti GP 5000s and it felt like I got a new bike. And my speed increased by several mph. You just can't get upgrades like that with any other component
When I switched to Conti GP4000sii, those were 12.2 watts per tire. Total of 24.4 watts.
The difference between them obviously 40 watts (depending on conditions). Yeah, that is a big deal. And you can feel it. One is like pedaling through mud in comparison to the other floating over the road.
DWS06 on all my cars. By far the longest lasting and best performing tire and cheaper than the competition.
My brother has dsw06s on his Focus RS. They're awesome tires but have a short lifespan. I got Conti PureContacts and haven't had a single complaint, they've never lost traction or hydroplaned (not for lack of trying), and are quiet except on perfectly smooth pavement.
I like my DWS06+ set. Not terrible in snow and pretty good in rain.
DWS06+ user here. Amazing tires, especially in the rain.
Sumitomo Encounter ATs are hands down the best bang for the buck.
The stock kinergys are quite bad new and once they start approaching 1/2 life left, became honestly dangerous in the rain from my experience. I replaced them with Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+’s well before the tires were worn out and haven’t looked back. 100% worth it.
Ride Tours apparently run narrow on most rims, I’ve got a pair of them in 32c that measure in at about 29mm even on 19mm rims
Very durable but the only crashes I've had in the wet have been with them fitted. Personally won't be using them anymore.
