Tires Continental or OEM FORD

Continental Tires

Got myself Continental Viking Contact and they are the best overall (dry, wet, snow, ice, sound level and rolling resistance) while not much more than the prices you listed. Iv had my Viking Contact for 2 winters now and I love them!

Pros: best overall, good in all conditions

I got the continental this year and I really like those tires. I had put 11k on them and maybe they don’t last all warranty. But they said if they don’t last all, they give me credit for the remaining mileage to replace them with new ones. Which is great as I will pay less for a new set

Pros: like the tires, good warranty
Cons: may not last warranty
Mileage: 11000 km

I've used the SRS+ tires for all season driving. They are fantastic. Rain or snow, they had a good grip. The ride is very smooth. I do not regret getting them.

Pros: good grip, smooth ride

DWS06+ was also great tire for me. Was good in both summer and winter extremes. Surprised me last winter when I thought I would for sure be stuck in a blizzard as I went right past all the other AWD cars in the ditch and made it home. I did however notice that under moderate spirited driving the sidewall is pretty soft and likes to slightly roll over

Pros: good in summer and winter
Cons: soft sidewall

I know nothing about the srs+ or pss4, but dws-06+ is what I've used on my last 2 and current car here in North Carolina. Handles light/moderate snow ice when it happens over here, and comfortable on mixed roads

Pros: handles snow and ice
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM FORD Tires

Here’s the “bad” stuff that I’ve had on mine:

- LED light on the running board went out. Replaced under warranty
- backup sensor issue: a wire broke (i think) when I did some “spirited” driving on a gravel road. Getting fixed on Monday.
- rear drive unit seal weeped a bit. Getting fixed on Monday.
- stock tires sucked.

Cons: stock tires sucked
Vehicle: Ford

I previously had on the coveted Conti DWS 06+ and they sucked. Here’s what I did not like about them. The continental did not have the extra little bead around the rim to protect it. The front tires always look like they were under inflated, even though they were at the correct pressure and there was always a ring of dirt around the sidewalk where it looked like it was basically running on the side sidewalk half the time through turns with the flexing. The continental tires only lasted about 22,000 miles.

Cons: no rim protection, looked underinflated, poor tread life
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 22000 km
