Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5. I have them on my Mk7.5 and love them. They are T rated, but very quiet. I do mostly highway driving.
Nokian seasonproof 2 are way to go, nokian is quieter and pattern on them are unique they have central canals for aqualpaning like summer tyres and the treads like winter tyres. I've never seen this before on any allseason tyre brend.
I did upgrade the tires to a quieter Continentals, from the standard issue goodyear. Its quiet, smooth, comfortable on the 4800 mile trip I took.
I've run the DWS06 all seasons in winter with no problems.
I live in a ski town BC, that averages >30 FEET of snowfall annually. Often roads have caked snow, sluff, sleet & ice. Between dodging tourists, wildlife and staying firmy lodged, I don't dick around. I get the best. Studded Hakka's 10, that just replaced a set that I had about 30-35,000km on.
I run continental viking contact 7s. love em.
DWS06+ is a great choice for A/S IMO. I think I prefer them over actual summers as a daily tire for summer as well: better tread life, better ride, nicely communicative, & plenty of grip for open road endeavors IME.
I just put on a set of Hakka R5s for the winter and the difference in road noise was startling - like driving a whole new vehicle.
I wish mine had had all seasons, they'd have suited me better. I got ecoContact6's.
I am in no way a sensitive critic of tires and/or car handling, but these tires are absolutely TERRIBLE at highway speeds. Not sure how to describe it but with any slight steering change, the back end almost felt like it was drifting. It felt like it was floating back there. Even on a lane change, you could feel the back end almost have like a slight delay and then overcorrect and come back. It was very strange.
