I love the continentals, no matter the weather these things stay planted. Great grip and durability. I have bought 3 sets over the years and for my GTI it’s all I’ll buy.
I’m running Continental WinterContact TS 860S SSR snow tires in Maine. Made it 50-something miles to work Christmas Eve in at least 6” of unplowed snow out to the highway (including at least a 12” deep and wide bank at the end of the driveway with no momentum). Packed snow on the highway, and a fluffy snowbank as tall as the hood at the end of an off-ramp. That was just one of many adventures these tires have gotten me through between this winter and last.
I have the Goodyear assurance tires rated for 85k miles and so far they’ve been great
I've been pleased with the Goodyear ElectricDrive 2. Very quiet and smooth riding.
Sam przedwczoraj wracałem jadąc ok. 40 km/h na ograniczeniu 90 km/h, bo pomimo nowych zimówek GoodYear auto się ślizgało jak na lodowisku tylko ze dojechałem bez przygód jak u OP'a.
Got myself Continental Viking Contact and they are the best overall (dry, wet, snow, ice, sound level and rolling resistance) while not much more than the prices you listed. Iv had my Viking Contact for 2 winters now and I love them!
I run mine with 35mm Continental Cyclocross speed tires but I bet a 38 would fit.
Dws are loud. If you value comfort go for some touring tires
I can say without a doubt that I will never spend money on another Goodyear tire. I've seen sidewalls bubble within minutes of installation, go flat from a pine cone, and dry rot in months.
I previously had on the coveted Conti DWS 06+ and they sucked. Here’s what I did not like about them. The continental did not have the extra little bead around the rim to protect it. The front tires always look like they were under inflated, even though they were at the correct pressure and there was always a ring of dirt around the sidewalk where it looked like it was basically running on the side sidewalk half the time through turns with the flexing. The continental tires only lasted about 22,000 miles.
