I drive continentals also in tx. Perfect in rain even when completely bald.
I had installed Continental for my front tyres. There was a remarkable difference in the how the car drove and how it gripped.
I always recommend the continental DWS-06. Amazing tire. Excellent wet weather grip.
UC6 is by far the best I’ve experienced when compared to Michelin XM1 , CEAT and JKTyres, Continentals are just smooth throughout
Yeh the UC6 is amazing. My car came with ceat securadrive. It got a sidewall bubble at 22k. Changed to UC6 and the change was mind-blowing. Just yesterday I was driving in the rain at 60-70 not breaking a sweat. Also got turtle wax clearvue rain coating. Can't recommend these enough. Tried to get conti for WagonR and Ignis as well but weren't in stock at my preferred shop, so went with Bridgestone sturdo, they're also good for the price.
The Brezza came with Apollo Alnac 4G tires from the factory. Apollo's were a good set of tires; they had decent grip, road noise wasn't bad, and even at 49,000 kilometers, they had about 5,000 kilometers left. Anyway, I decided to change them since I could see hairline cracks appearing, plus monsoon season here in Kerala means it's better to have a good pair of tires.
Long story short, after extensive research, I got Continental UC6 215/60-16 tires. I paid a total of 34,800 rupees, including four tires, balancing, alignment, and valves. The tires were 8,150 rupees each. I didn't feel a lot of difference in the first 150 kilometers, but after that, I noticed some major differences compared to the Apollos.
* Road trip: These tires stick to the road like leeches. Wet grip is unbelievably good. You can take a turn at 90 kmph on wet highways, and the car won't break a sweat. I never had that kind of confidence before.
* Braking: Stopping power has improved significantly. Both wet and dry grip are excellent.
* Ride quality: Improved by leaps and bounds. Small imperfections on the road are dismissed. Expansion joints on the highways are hardly felt in the cabin.
* Road noise : These tires are silent. At 120 kmph, all you hear is wind and engine noise. 0 noise from the tires. Apollo's use to get loud post 90kmph.
If you are looking for a tire change, i highly recommend Continentals. You would hardly pay 10-15% more then Indian tires but the benefits are significant .
Running 315/345 Vitours on my C7Z. Been really happy with them so far...the 315/345 Conti Forces treated me really well for almost 3 full autocross seasons.
I am happy with my Continental Control Contact Sport SRS+ for $162 each. I only see dry weather so I can't commit to the rain or snow preference.
I have 21k miles on them and they are wearing well.
Currently running the General 365aw, and they've been pretty good. I don't think they were as good as the nokians in the snow. (Mind you, we don't get a lot of snow here, it's mostly very wet snow when we do).
Every single VW I have owned that came with Continental Tires I have had to replace them well before their tread "Lifetime" This time I need to replace a set at 22k miles because they have hit their wear bar, this despite regular rotation. Absolute TRASH!!!
