Tires Continental or GENERAL TIRE

GENERAL TIRE Tires

Can go wrong with Nokians, in my opinion. I've had several sets on Saabs, my JSW, Touareg, and currently run studded Hakkepellitas on the wife's fwd GSW 5 speed. I ran General artic studdless on my GSW 4 motion 6 speed last winter and was pleased with the performance of those as well.

Pros: pleased with performance

I can add that I have Continental (Dealer supplied) 195 -65 - 15 on steelies on my 16 GSW. Using the electronic systems in the car, with 4 tall and narrow, winter tires, gives confident snow traction. Fuel mileage is not adversely affected and the noise level has not increased.

Pros: confident snow traction, fuel mileage unaffected
Cons: dry highway speed stability

The Conti Control Contact Sport A/S tire is one of the quieter tires out there and has excellent wet and snow weather traction. Being in Michigan, driving in the snow, this tire is better than almost all all-season tires in the snow. I highly recommend these for the Passat TDI.

Pros: quieter, excellent wet traction

Had good years on my '10 Routan. Meh. Very loud and very hard. Eventually purchased a set of Continentals -- oh my what a difference it made. I would not put anything else on the Routan. They look great and perform flawlessly. Highly recommended.

Pros: perform flawlessly, look great
Cons: very loud, very hard
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I liked the continental race king as a fast rolling trail tire, and if you were ok with something a little heavier duty, maxxis high roller 2s are a good choice for the front.

Pros: fast rolling trail tire
