The Evolution MTs are great unless you’re doing hardcore rock-crawling, since the sidewalls aren’t quite as strong as the more expensive MTs like the KM3s, etc. The Coopers are also the lightest MT I’ve seen, which is a plus.
I’ve had coopers before and have been very pleased with them
Continental PureContact LS. Also have them on my A3 Etron. The tires were less expensive and have much better grip and handling. They also are quieter and longer lasting.
Why is Continental nowhere on this chart?
I have their tires in all my cars and they are pretty good
The front looks ok but I also just got contis and put them on even with some life left on my old specialized.
I think a premium tyre is definately worth it. Michelin or Continental will outlast, be quieter, grip better and improve economy over all budget and most every mid range tyre.
Pep Boys has a relatively cheap Cooper tire exclusive to them. They last forever. Definitely touring tires, they're made to last and to be ideal in all conditions. I'll go back to the Cooper Adventurers next round of tires and probably here on out, highly recommended.
I got Meineke to repair my stock model Y tire before and it held up nicely, after I replaced both of my Teslas with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus and I haven’t look back, no foam and you can’t even tell a difference in road and they are awesome for significantly less money per tire, plus they have indicators to tell when to replace for Dry, Wet and Snow conditions. Will only use these tires moving forward on my vehicles.
I swapped out at 36k to Continental EXtremeContact DWS06 (50,000 mile warranty). They were $1000 installed at my tire place. It looked like the stock Primacy's would have been $200-300 more. The Continentals are less efficient (\~5% or so), but the extra money I will spend on electricity over the life of the tire doesn't make up the cost difference. Currently have about 10k miles on the new tires. Can't tell any real difference in noise or ride comfort level.
I got rid of the Continentals because the rubber was way too soft. I was always getting flats in those tires.
