Tires Continental or BFGoodrich

Continental Tires

I use conti motions :) get 6/7k miles before I change them.

Confidence inspiring in the wet due to the big recesses in the tyres that help to displace water, cheap enough and also no chicken strips :)

Pros: confidence inspiring in wet, cheap enough

Continental Tires

Continental extreme contact DWS all-season. Best tire out there for all-weather conditions in my opinion. I've run a bunch of different setups on numerous cars (AWD S4, RWD 328i, FWD Acura TL-S), and I always like the DWS the best. Second best to me were Mich. contact sport A/S.

Pros: best tire, all-weather conditions

Continental Tires

The DWS are great tires. I honestly had no problems in my girlfriend's Subaru with the stock bridgestone "no-seasons" until I bogged it in about 10" of fresh snow in the middle of the night (up to the doors), with the tires at the wear bars. I was impressed. The DWS are even better.

Pros: great tires, even better
Cons: none

Continental Tires

My biggest complaint about the Conti DWS's is their softer sidewall. I prefer a stiffer sidewall for a better turn-in. Other than that, I have heard good things about the Conti's.

Pros: heard good things
Cons: softer sidewall

As for tires, I'd absolutely recommend against getting Conti DW's. I got them to replace Michelin PSS' mainly because they were cheaper and I thought the drop off in performance wouldn't be as significant as the price difference but it is...Very significant. For a chill family car, DW's are great..for any kind of performance driving, they just aren't good enough. Traction is ok but the sidewalls are very soft and I could feel them rolling and giving away at the track.

Pros: great for family car
Cons: soft sidewalls, poor traction
