They're fantastic for DE's / non-competition for all the reasons you list. I 100% recommend for HPDE for both performance and bang-for-buck. Pros: -They last a very long time compared to every other R compound tire out there (I've run Toyo, Hankook, Hoosier, etc etc.) -Cheap compared to other 100 treadwear tires. They ship straight from Maxxis and come with a T-shirt. -Not a lot of fade, both during a session and over multiple heat cycles -They give you a lot of feedback and tend not to snap loose
I'm a big fan of the Bridgestone Blizzak tires (in your case, WS80).
As a counterpoint to the Michelin PSS, I have Bridgestone S04 Pole Position tires and have been very happy with them. Dry and wet performance has been excellent.
They're sort of expensive I think, but the Bridgestone Battlax S20 is really nice in the wet. I had Pirelli Diablo Corsas and moved away from them specifically because of their poor performance in the wet.
Saab with Potenza RE970AS Pole Position tires. Best 3 season tire IMO.
Myself I am on stock breaks with upgraded components. I am running 18x8.5 235/40/18 Bridgestone(RE71R) VMR v810 One thing is when or if you lower the car the 8.5 at ET45 wheel might rub.
+1 they look like correct for a Jeep tire vs everything else out there and I'm pretty happy with them over the last 15000 miles or so.
Stock bridgstones suck in the snow, the best systems can't help wrong tires for the conditions. 18" X-ice3's, have PP and Jb1 power and the traction systems are very impressive in my opinion. The car limits the power aggressively to maintain traction and control even in very slick conditions (good thing).
I got about 6 tracks days from my RE-71R tires last season. They were great for about the first 15 minutes, but fell off after that. They also got shredded pretty quickly.
The factory tires on my 335i are Japanese made Bridgestone RE050 Run-flats. They suck, harsh ride, low tire life, loud, and most of all one small pot-hole and you got an instant sidewall bubble.
